Skepta x TEM

Skepta invited the audience to enter another world in this series of intimate and immersive experiences. Held in a secret Manchester location, DYSTOPIA987 was a waking dream that presented Skepta’s singular vision of the future: deep, dark, radical and riveting.

Featuring a live set from Skepta, guest appearances from hand-picked performers and DJs, a wealth of new technology and a cast inhabiting a hidden netherworld, DYSTOPIA987 was a journey into eternity – a future driven with uncertainty and fear but rich in wonder and possibility.

The Experience Machine (TEM) designed the space, the show and collaborated on the concept and experience design. They asked us to help them realise one of 4 tunnels and to make RAIL9 with them. Coming a moving overhead rail with lighting, projection, lasers and sound. We provided overall Technical Direction and also designed a custom control and programming system to integrate the robotic rail, real-time motion graphics, lighting desk and audio playback systems in a coherent and user friendly way.
